Internationally renowned singer, percussionist and teacher  Alessandra Belloni, Remo Artist Proudly announces her first MUSICAL JOURNEY TO ESOTERIC SICILY during Holy Week  April 10 to April 17, 2017 in a beautiful magical setting, PARCO MUSEO JALARI www.parcojalari.it   featuring a Workshop on Healing Dance and Percussion from Southern Italy and the special participation of philosopher, writer and shaman Angelo Tonelli   This new workshop will blend the South Italian musical traditions of the Black Madonna and the Divine Feminine with sacred locations in Sicily including the Megalith Stones of Argimusco, the Sanctuary of the Black Madonna and the Temple of the Goddess Cybele in Tindari.   At night we will also feature the participation of special Sicilian artists including the Pietrini Brothers and various folk musicians who will join us for wonderful jam sessions of Southern Italian music in great locations.   This 7-day intensive healing journey will also feature Southern Italian ritual dances that have been used as music and dance therapy for centuries throughout the Mediterranean.   Drumming classes will be held at different powerful locations every day, invoking the healing powers of the volcanic earth of Sicily combined with sacred chants of the Black Madonna from Southern Italy and other parts of the world.   Participants will learn the unique style of south Italian tambourine playing and the ancient healing trance dance of the tarantella, used to cure the mythical “bite of the tarantula” (which was often a traditional metaphor for depression or mental illness) in a ceremonial setting.     Accommodations will be provided with charming rooms in the “agriturismo Jalari,” single and double rooms are available.  Fantastic meals will be prepared by Sicilian chefs by using the fresh organic food grown on the farm!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EqgmcJE9qg
