Dear Friends: I have been going to Hawaii for 18 years, and fell in love with the islands, the people the magic of natural beauty. Last 2 years I held my retreats in the beautiful Kahumana organic Farm founded by Father Phil Harmon. I am very proud to announce that this year he will be teaching with me special classes on the Black Madonna while in the beautiful Black Madonna Chapel! I will be teaching the sacred chants and drumming The Honorable Rev. Father Phil Harmon has been ordained at Orthodox Priest for 40 years and is a founder of Kahumana Farm. He is a theologian that specializes in the Divine Feminine, Sophia and the Black Madonna.
THIS NEW WORKSHOP will blend the South Italian musical tradition of the Black Madonna and the Divine Feminine with the Spiritual knowledge of father Phil, and students will learn chants, dances and special meditations following the Rudolf Steiner philosophy on the Great Mother.
This special retreat will also explore the natural beauties of the island . and tour the organic farms
Location: Kahumana Organic Farm is in Wainea side of the Island of Ohahu, very different and magical, where many locals live between Mountains and great beaches.
The retreat houses (also a Rudolf Steiner Center) offer a unique setting within the context of their diverse community in a truly restf ul environment of healing and wholeness. All of the rooms are secure and come with clean linen, towels & internet access. The swimming pool is available for those 18 years and older. Conveniently located on the Honolulu City Bus route. Comfortably accommodates 12 people. All rooms have single beds and share 2 full baths. There are 11 rooms - 8 single beds, 3 double beds. A microwave & refrigerator provided for your convenience and the cafe offers a variety of Organic Foods & vegetables. Kahumana Organic Farm & Cafe is open Tuesday through Saturday for lunch from 11:30a - 2:30p and dinner from 6:30p - 8:00p. Rhythm is the Cure is a 6-day intensive healing workshop featuring Southern Italian ritual dances used as music and dance therapy for centuries throughout the Mediterranean.
Drumming classes will be done on the beach every morning!
Participants will learn the unique style of tambourine playing and the ancient healing trance dance of the tarantella, used to cure the mythical bite of the tarantula.
Alessandra will also teach sacred chants of the Black Madonna from Southern Italy and other parts of the world. This special retreat will also explore the natural beauties of the Island, tour of the organic farms.
