ALESSANDRA BELLONI joins Afro Roots Tuesdays at the Bernie Wohl Center for "TARANTATA" This fiery "percussive journey" through the South of Italy and crossing to Brazil will explore songs and chants for the Black Madonna, dance and rhythm, magic rituals, and tarantellas used as music therapy to cure the mythical bite of the tarantula. All fused with Afro-Brazilian beats, rhythms and chants, featuring Alessandra's original compositions to honor Yemanja and Oxun, Goddesses of Love and Waters, from the Afro-Brazilian Yoruba tradition.
